Violet
– Crossing the Line
Baby, I want you
Like the roses want the rain
You know I need you
Like the poet needs the pain
And I would give anything
My blood, my love, my life
If you were in these arms tonight
I'd hold you, I'd need you
I'd get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms
I'd love you, I'd please you
I'd tell you that I'll never leave you
And love you 'til the end of time
If you were in these arms tonight
Like the roses want the rain
You know I need you
Like the poet needs the pain
And I would give anything
My blood, my love, my life
If you were in these arms tonight
I'd hold you, I'd need you
I'd get down on my knees for you
And make everything alright
If you were in these arms
I'd love you, I'd please you
I'd tell you that I'll never leave you
And love you 'til the end of time
If you were in these arms tonight
Bon
Jovi (In These Arms)
I am not normally a girly girl. I do not get up at 5AM just to make sure my
hair and makeup is perfect for school.
What a waste of valuable sleeping time!
I have zero understanding of why I should get up an hour and a half
earlier than necessary in order to impress guys I don’t even care about in the
slightest. I used to watch my two older
sisters primping in front of the mirror and alternated between utter
fascination and abject horror at such a meticulous display of grooming every
morning.
I typically get up at 6:30AM and am ready to go by 7:05
to either catch the bus (Oh the shame as a senior to ride the school bus!) or
grab a ride with Daniel or Hannah since I don’t usually get the car just for
driving to school and back. Since I haven’t
had the discipline to save up for my own car, I have to negotiate with my
mother all of the time. If I can get a
ride with someone else, it just saves me the hassle.
Hannah and I probably wouldn’t be friends if it wasn’t
for Daniel and Erin double-dating on occasion.
She’s a sophomore, so we don’t have any classes together. And since I am only in school for part of the
day, our paths would not have otherwise crossed. I like her a lot! She’s spirited and determined and has
overcome quite a few obstacles in order to arrive where she is today.
I would not want to trade places with Hannah for
anything. Even at the young age of 16, she
doesn’t live at home. She rotates
staying with various friends whose parents are willing to rent out a bed to her. I know that her mother has some issues, but I’ve
never come out and discussed this with Hannah.
I trust her instincts and ability to know what is best for her.
Hannah pays for her car, insurance, phone, food, gas, and
anything else she needs. She works at
the local truck stop diner, and she has a list of loyal patrons that tip well
on a regular basis. What strikes me most
about Hannah is that she is not bitter about her situation at all. She has made her own choices and holds
herself to a high standard of accountability.
She even looks out for her younger brother and sister who still live at
home as much as she possibly can. I’ve
never met anyone else who was so grown up at such a young age, and I probably
never will again.
Since we had become good friends over the past few months,
we decided to spend the day together getting ready for the Prom. We made hair appointments at a salon and nail
appointments, too. Neither one of us
spent much time pampering ourselves, so it was a solid bonding experience for
us both. I had my hair coiffed into a
fancy up do with masses of curls sticking out of my rhinestone barrette. Hannah opted to leave her hair down (she said
it drove Erin crazy), but it fell in giant waves and made her look like a 40s
pinup girl. I got my nails painted a
deep rose color to compliment my dark teal dress, and Hannah picked candy apple
red to accent her classic black sequined gown.
We parted ways at the salon doors so that we could go to
our respective homes and get dressed for the evening. My dress had been altered to fit like a
custom glove, and I was excited to finally put it on officially. I had made a daring choice with my dress and
I hoped that Daniel would like it. I had
given him a little swatch of material so that he could get his vest and tie to
match my dress, but otherwise I had kept mum about what it actually looked
like. I had told him in all seriousness
that I was going to be wearing a potato sack without cracking a smile.
Once my mom helped me zip up my dress, I slipped into my
velvet pumps and walked down the hall to take a look in the full length mirror
hanging on the closet door. I assessed
what I saw with a critical eye: my dark teal dress had a sweetheart neckline
and velvet fitted bodice. My sleeves
were a respectable half-length that stopped at my elbows, and puffed up a
little bit at the shoulders. The metallic
material of the skirt flared out and came to a stop at my mid-calf. The best part by far was the back of the
dress; it had a huge heart-shaped cut-out and revealed my bare back.
To accessorize my dress, I had selected a silver and teal
rhinestone necklace and earrings. I also
picked out a velvet clutch that matched my gown and pumps. I had gotten dressed up plenty of times, but
I’m pretty sure I had never before worn over $500 of clothing and accessories
at one time. I had applied a generous
amount of eye makeup and lipstick, and had a compact and lipstick in my purse
so that I could refresh my face as necessary throughout the evening.
I had packed my overnight bag earlier that morning, and
it was sitting on my bed, waiting to go.
I needed some toiletries and clean clothes that would be more
appropriate than a cocktail dress for our day at Six Flags tomorrow; no one had
to know about the modestly sexy nightgown that I had tucked away in the bottom
of my tote for later.
Just as I was dwelling on that thought, the doorbell
rang. I knew it would be Daniel,
followed shortly by Erin and Hannah. Our
parents had agreed to meet here in order to take group pictures before we
headed off to the dance. My mom opened
the door and let Daniel into the foyer.
I waited for a few minutes in my room, giving myself a final inspection
in the mirror on top of my dresser. I wondered
if I would notice a difference in my appearance after tonight.
I took a deep breath and made my way down the hall and
into the living room. Daniel was perched
on the edge of the couch, looking rather sharp in his tuxedo. He stood up when he saw me, and his face lit
up. “You look amazing! I am the luckiest guy in the world.” He walked over to me and lightly kissed me on
the cheek. “Wow! What a dress!
It’s the best looking potato sack I’ve ever seen!” He chuckled and I blushed a little, well a
lot.
“Thank you, sir.”
I responded. “You clean up pretty
well, too!”
“I have something to go with your dress.” Daniel grabbed a gold box with a white ribbon
off of the coffee table and handed it to me.
“I hope you like it.”
I untied the ribbon and opened the lid. Inside was a beautiful wrist corsage made
with baby white and pink roses with a fancy teal bow. “Oh Daniel, it’s perfect! Thank you!
Help me put it on?” I lifted it
out of the box, and he slipped it onto my left wrist. “I have something for you
too. Wait right here.” I went into the kitchen, opened the fridge,
and pulled out the clear case with Daniel’s boutonniere in it.
Back in the living room, I pinned the single pink rose to
the lapel of his jacket. “I think that
will do the trick.” I said. Just then,
the doorbell rang again. I looked at
Daniel. “They’re here. You ready to get your smile on?”
Out on the front lawn, the four of us, Daniel, Erin, Hannah
and I, assembled in front of the large oak tree to endure dozens and dozens of
photos being taken of us. Erin’s dad had
come over to get some group shots as well.
My mother is a bit of a camera novice and so it took longer than we had
probably anticipated. By the time my
mother decided she had enough poses, my cheeks were sore from smiling.
I had to laugh as we were leaving; Erin’s dad had let him
borrow his nice silver Honda Accord for the evening, so he climbed into Erin’s little
white Chevy Cavalier instead. It was
quite comical to see someone other than Erin driving his car. My dad had also generously donated his maroon
Ford Taurus, so Daniel left the keys to his Rabbit with my father just in case.
As he ushered me into the passenger seat, Daniel got his
first good look at the back of my gown. “Wow! That really is quite a dress, Miss Violet!” He breathed into my ear.
“I’m really glad you like it, Daniel.” I smiled and waved at my mother, who was
still taking pictures as we backed out of the driveway. “I really ought to hide her camera,” I
muttered. “She doesn’t have the first
clue how to get the lens cap off, much less take an actual picture.” It was not lost on me that Daniel’s parents
had opted not to come over for our photo session. I tried not to think about it and just focus
on the evening ahead.
There was going to be plenty of buffet food available at
the dance, but we wanted to go somewhere nice and have a relaxing dinner. Erin and Daniel had finally settled on an
authentic German restaurant that was close to the hotel where the Prom was
taking place. We had almost finished our
dinner when Daniel looked up and nearly choked on his soda.
“Erin, you’ll never guess who just walked in,” Daniel
managed to gasp as he tried to come up for air.
“I don’t know. Joe
Montana?” Erin randomly guessed.
“You’re close. How
about Marty Schottenheimer?”
Erin snorted. “Sure,
Danny! My legs are long enough. Why don’t you pull your own?”
“I’m serious. Turn
around and look. He just sat down over
at that table in the far corner. That’s
probably his wife that’s with him.”
I looked at Hannah and queried. “Who’s Marty Schottenheimer?”
She laughed. “You
really don’t follow sports at all, do you?
He’s only the head coach for the Chiefs.
He’s kind of a big deal around here.”
“I’ve heard his name dozens of times before but never
really knew why he was a big deal. Well
that makes sense now. Thank you.” I looked back and forth between Daniel and
Erin. They were trying in vain to keep
their cool. Erin kept glancing over his
shoulder to get a better look, and Daniel could hardly sit still in his seat.
“What are we going to do with these two?” I asked Hannah and laughed. “They’re like a couple of 5 year-olds who’ve
just spotted Santa...”
Daniel interrupted me.
“We have to go over and say something, Erin.”
I was appalled. “Um,
no you don’t. He’s eating dinner with
his wife. That would be incredibly rude
to bother him during dinner. Tell me you’re
not actually considering this.” I stared
at both of them, waiting, but I could clearly see that I was going to get
nowhere fast.
The guys decided to make their move as we were
leaving. Daniel took my hand and I
started for the door. Suddenly, I felt
my arm being yanked to the left. Before
I realized what was happening, the four of us were standing in front of Marty
Schottenheimer’s table. Erin and Daniel
complimented him on his skills as a coach and said that they were enjoying the
current season. I wanted to die of
embarrassment! Mr. Schottenheimer was
incredibly gracious and thanked them for their support of the team. He even signed placemats for us. (I’m sure part of it had to do with our Academy
Awards worthy attire.) I think the boys
could have gone home happy at that point and skipped the dance altogether!
The dance was wonderful!
I really had to give a lot of credit to the folks on the Prom committee –
they did a stellar job putting everything together! We danced in large groups like crazy fools to
all of our favorite fun songs, and then paired off, holding onto each other tightly
during the slow songs. Erin even
politely asked me to dance during a two-step, and Daniel took Hannah out onto
the floor. I really was having a
terrific time and was more than a little surprised when Daniel told me it was
already almost midnight.
Daniel and I decided to make our getaway, so we said
goodnight to Erin and Hannah before quietly slipping out into the night. As we headed to the car, the nervousness in
my stomach kicked into full tilt, to the point where I almost felt
nauseous. We drove the short distance to
the hotel Daniel had selected, and I waited in the lobby while he checked in at
the front desk. In my fancy dress, I
felt pretty conspicuous, and was almost certain that there was a neon sign over
my head letting everyone know just what we were planning on doing.
Once we got to our room, I asked Daniel to help me with
my zipper, and then I quickly disappeared into the bathroom, shutting the door
behind me. I sat down on the edge of the
bathtub and counted to 50 just to slow my breathing and attempt to quiet my
nerves. I loved Daniel and I wanted to
do this with him. I had read lots of
erotic novels and seen plenty of movies with sex in them, but I was still
concerned about the actual physical part. I hadn’t discussed this with anyone and now I
sort of wished that I had at least talked to Morgan, my older sister.
I stood up and opened my overnight bag. I fished around in the bottom and pulled out
my brand new silky nightgown. It was pale
pink with skinny spaghetti straps and a lace overlay on the bodice. It fell in gathered pleats and stopped just
above my knees. I laid it on top of the
bag and shrugged out of my dress. I hung
that on the back of the bathroom door and then took off my bustier and
pantyhose. I slid the lingerie over my
head and looked at myself in the mirror.
I wasn’t sure if I should take off my panties; if I did, would that make
me seem slutty?
Then I heard Daniel’s voice outside the bathroom
door. “Violet, are you okay in there?”
I stared into the mirror.
“Yes. I’m fine. I will be out in a minute. Will you please turn down the bed?” I decided to leave the panties on, although I
knew they wouldn’t be on for long. I
grabbed a towel and turned the doorknob.
It was time.
I opened the door and stood in the doorway, backlit by
the light from the bathroom. Daniel was
sitting on the edge of the bed. He had
removed his tuxedo jacket, tie and vest, along with his socks and shoes. The lamp was shining next to the bed, and the
blankets had been turned down per my request.
Daniel’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped open involuntarily as I
approached him. I set the towel on the
end of the bed.
“Wow! Violet you
look amazing!” He stood up and came over
to me, gently taking my face in his hands and kissing me on the lips. “I am the luckiest guy in the world.” He pulled back and looked me in the
eyes. “I love you. You know that, right? I’m not just saying that.”
I returned his gaze.
“I know. That’s why I’m doing
this. Now let’s get your shirt off.” I reached up and unbuttoned his buttons one
by one as Daniel leaned in and kissed me on the neck. Once I got down to his
waist, I stopped and let my hands linger on his belt. He moved back up to my lips and kissed me hungrily. Tugging on the strap, I released the
buckle. He pulled his shirt out of his
pants; I pushed the sides of it open, ran my hands over his shoulders, and it
fell to the floor.
“That’s more like it.”
I breathed into his ear as I let my hands roam up and down his chest. “Now take your pants off.” I pulled away from him and watched him
unbutton and unzip his pants. I could
see the outline of his erection in his gray boxer briefs and I licked my lips unconsciously. He stepped out of his pants and took my hand,
leading me to the bed.
I lay down on the bed and looked up at Daniel as he
lowered his body onto mine. He kissed me
and pressed himself against me fully. I
could feel his hard penis against my hip.
I finally relaxed and gave in to the moment, feeling the weight of him,
warm against my skin. He reached up with
one hand and squeezed my breast firmly.
I let out a gasp of pleasure and his fingers moved to tease my nipple,
making it stick out. He pushed my
spaghetti strap down off my shoulder and reached inside my negligee, grabbing
my breast. He bent down and licked my
nipple, causing a surge of pleasure to burn in between my thighs.
I sighed audibly. “Yes,
I like that.” After giving my left
breast plenty of attention, he switched to my right breast. He worked slowly and methodically, making my
body respond to his touch. I lost almost
all sense of rational thought until he tugged on my panties to remove
them. “Wait. You have a condom, right?”
“Yes, of course. I
slipped one under the pillows.” Daniel
stared at me, his pupils dilated with desire. “Are you okay Violet? If you’re not ready, we can wait.”
I shook my head. “No,
it’s not that. I need to get up for a
minute and put down the towel. I don’t
want to bleed on the sheets.” He sat up
on the edge of the bed and I stood up on the other side. I placed the towel in the middle of the bed
and shimmied out of my panties before lying back down. “Can you turn out the light?” I asked.
He reached over and turned the knob under the shade. The light from the bathroom cast a dim glow
over the bed. He took the condom out
from under the pillow and ripped it open.
“Let me help you.” I said, touching
him on the back. He stood and pulled off
his briefs. His rigid dick protruded in
front of him as he turned to face me. He
climbed back onto the bed and knelt over me.
I took the condom from him and slid it in place.
Daniel leaned down and kissed me again tenderly, then
more insistently. I wrapped my legs
around him, encouraging him to take me for his own. I could feel his dick probing at my moist
vagina and I raised my hips to meet him.
He entered me slowly, and I could feel the resistance. “Am I hurting you?” He looked concerned.
“No. You just have
to break through my skin.” I smiled up
at him. “You’re not hurting me, I
promise.” I lied, but I didn’t want him
to stop. He pushed against me again and
this time I felt the skin give. I
gasped! His penis filled my completely
and I relished in this new and exciting feeling. He began to rock back and forth, sliding his
dick in and out of my wet pussy. I
wrapped my legs around him and clasped my hands on his back, pulling him
close.
My breath grew faster and his strokes intensified in
strength and speed. We rode the wave of
desire to its peak, and Daniel shuddered as he came. When he was finished, I unwound my legs; he
slowly pulled out and rolled off of me. He
lay on his back next to me, our pulses and breathing rates gradually returning
to normal. After a few minutes, Daniel
got up and went into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
I lay alone in the pitch darkness, listening to my heart
beat in my ears. It seemed cliché to say
that everything had changed, but it sure felt that way. Daniel reemerged from the bathroom and came
back over to lay down with me. He lay on
his side and faced me, one hand draped over my stomach, and the other propped
his head up slightly.
“I don’t even know what to say, Violet. I’m literally speechless.”
“That’s okay. I’m
not sure there are adequate words for this.”
I looked up at him, and he leaned over to kiss me. “I’m going to clean up, and then we can head
to the after prom if you want.”
He thought about this.
“It’s not necessary. We’re really
not going to miss much. Or I guess I
should say that we won’t be missed in all of that commotion. I would much rather stay her with you.”
“That’s fine with me.
I’m not worried about winning lame prizes like t-shirts and McDonald’s
gift cards at the roulette wheel. Are
you?”
“Not really. We
aren’t supposed to meet up with Erin and Hannah until 7AM at the diner anyway.”
It finally dawned on me.
“Did you tell Casanova about this?
Tell the truth.”
“I told him that we were getting a hotel room. I didn’t know I wasn’t supposed to say
anything.”
“Fantastic. That
explains the funny looks I was getting all evening at the dinner table and
during the dance.” I stewed on this new
information. “I’m going to get a shower.”
Back in the bathroom, I pulled a shower cap over my head
to try and minimize the destruction of my expensive hairdo. I stood under the shower for a long time,
letting the hot water and steam envelop me.
I was utterly annoyed at the fact that Daniel had told Erin about our
plans, but I suppose I should have realized that a horny teenage guy was not
going to be able to keep this to himself.
My thoughts returned to the events of the evening, and a smile formed on
my face. It had been a wonderful night;
one I wouldn’t forget for a long time.
When I finally found my way back into the bedroom, Daniel
was still exactly where I had left him.
He had pulled the sheets up to his waist and was watching an old rerun
of All in the Family on TV from
behind his eyelids. I picked up the
remote from the nightstand and walked around the bed. I climbed under the covers and pressed the
power button, setting the control on the nightstand on my side. I don’t think I even knew that my head hit
the pillow.
